39. Music quality becomes poor when using ProPTT2

I'm using ProPTT2 on Android O, and found that when I have music playing on a bluetooth headset and then start using ProPTT2 on the BT headset at the same time, the music quality becomes very poor. The music continues playing, but sounds like AM radio. This happens whenever the ProPTT2 is running, even when there is no talking on any channels.

I can reproduce this using the ProPTT2 app on the play store, but I've also seen it within my own evaluation app using the ProPTT2 SDK.

Steps to reproduce:
1) connect bluetooth headphones to the phone.
2) start music app like Google Play Music and start playing tracks. Verify music sounds fine.
3) Start ProPTT2 app and login to server.
4) Switch to bluetooth using the lower left button above the history button with the BT logo, headphones, and drawer (I'm not sure what to call that button).

At this point the music quality becomes very poor. If you hit the button again, the music returns to normal.

Can you explain how to avoid this, and keep the music at high fidelity while using ProPTT2?

thank you
Jason.

Dear Jason,
ProPTT2 is using Bluetooth call mode to use bi-direction communication.
So we guess that you can think music quality changed to be low.
ProPTT2 Android version is supporting delayed open mode of the call mode.
If it is on, when PTT is arrived, Bluetooth can be changed to the call mode.
The option is "Bluetooth Battery Save Mode" in Voice PTT configuration.
Thanks,
ProPTT2.

Thank you for the response, below, that battery save mode does seem to work better.
